AE Photonics’ 120 m² stand at the Intersolar Europe 2012 in Munich was almost double its last year’s size. Given that both the sales and project teams had grown significantly over the last year, and lots of customers and partners had advised they would be visiting our stand, the larger size proved to be appropriate. The stand was heavily frequented by AE Photonics’ German and international partners on all three days of the fair. We thank all visitors for the interesting and promising discussions, and look forward to continuing our successful partnerships!

AE Photonics Maroc has set up Africa’s largest solar pump to date in the southern Moroccan town of Taroudant, 170 km from Agadir. Pump PS21k made by Lorentz is run by 84 LDK 220 W/poly modules, and transports 308 m³ of water from a 75-m-deep well every day. With the help of a drip irrigation system, it is used to irrigate a 10-ha olive plantation. AE Photonics Maroc has already been contracted to set up the next facility for a solar pump of this size. Pumps set up by AE Photonics Maroc now irrigate more than 1,000 hectares of agricultural land in Morocco, which is used for purposes such as growing vegetables, olives and oranges for the African and European markets.

Following the SIAM agricultural trade fair in Meknes, AE Photonics Maroc was awarded the prize for best company in the field of solar-powered irrigation in Morocco. The Ministry of Agriculture selected AE Photonics for the award after visiting its stand, inviting it to attend the prize-giving ceremony at the royal palace, where the managing director of AE Photonics Maroc, Ali Sedki was presented with the award by Moroccan Prince Moulay Rachid, who was representing his brother, King Mohammed VI. The Prime Minister of Morocco, Abdeliah Benkirane, also attended the ceremony, and Mr Sedki had the opportunity to talk with him afterwards about promoting solar pump systems in combination with drip irrigation in Morocco.

Italy is currently one of the most important markets for AE Photonics, so the company was fittingly represented by a stand of almost 100 m² at the Solarexpo in Verona, one of the largest international trade fairs for renewable energy in Italy. It was able to successfully present its Distribution product portfolio and its range of services in the field of photovoltaic power plants. The stand was very popular, and valuable new contacts were able to be made, allowing AE Photonics Italia to further develop its market share.
With 650,000 visitors and 850 exhibitors from 40 countries, the SIAM MEKNES is the largest and most important agricultural trade fair in North Africa. AE Photonics Maroc was present with a 50 m² stand, and particularly presented solar pump systems for irrigating agricultural land. With the help of the AE Photonics solar pump systems using solar pumps made by the German company Berndt Lorentz, corresponding photovoltaic modules and cabling plus assembly, it is possible to irrigate vast agricultural land in an environmentally friendly manner – including in combination with water-saving drip irrigation. The stand and solar pump systems met with great interest in Meknes.

Sun Week is an annual, nationwide campaign initiated by the Federal Solar Industry Association (Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft e.V.), with ever increasing participant numbers. AE Photonics supported the 2012 solar campaign as a sponsor.
Solar specialists were able to participate with free events and with the support of the Federal Solar Industry Association from 4 to 13 May. Among other things, the association provides a location-based specialist search on the Sun Week homepage.http://www.woche-der-sonne.de/
AE Photonics Italia has celebrated the inauguration of its new office in Milan on 3rd February 2012. The new business premises were occupied at the end of November 2011. They provide enough space for new colleagues so that we are able to increase our commitment in Italy.

With the help of approximately 200 committed volunteers, the food bank «Dresdner Tafel» regularly provides food to about 12.500 people. AE Photonics wants to follow this good example.
We made a donation to support the purchase of a new refrigerated vehicle. The new Opel Movano helps the food bank «Dresdner Tafel» to provide fresh food to the people in need in Dresden.
On 25th November 2011, AE Photonics celebrated its third anniversary. When Marco Lamsouguer and Mike Renner founded the company in November 2008, with virtually no start-up capital, but with a lot of know-how and commitment, the fast development of the company was hardly conceivable.
Today AE Photonics Group has more than 50 employees in 6 countries and succeeded in maintaining its position on the PV market even in the difficult year of 2011.
AE Photonics would like to thank all its clients and partners for their trust and support.
We look forward to continuing our successful business partnership.
Accompanied by a business delegation, Philipp Rösler, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Technology in Germany, travelled to Athens at the beginning of October. The purpose of the trip was to support Greece in its efforts to strengthen its economic competitiveness and to explore possibilities for collaboration.
The visit focused particularly on renewable energies. Therefore, several German companies from this sector made the trip to Greece with Rösler. AE Photonics was also invited to Athens and Marco Lamsouguer, CEO of AE Photonics, followed the invitation and was one of the members of the delegation that travelled to Greece with the economy minister. During the talks in Athens, he was already able to make good business contacts.

AE Photonics was presented on the ZDF television program «ZDF Morgenmagazin» within the scope of reporting on the delegation trip of the Federal Economics Minister to Greece.
The editorial team accompanied Martin Attenhauser in his role as management representative in his work in Dresden. He was asked to assess the possibilities for German renewable energy companies in Greece.
The report is available at ZDF's media library.

AE Photonics anticipates strong growth in Greece over the coming years and aims to support this development by providing high-quality products and services as well as its experience.
Thanks to the incorporation of the Athens-based subsidiary, it is possible to provide the whole southern European region with tailor-made photovoltaic solutions.

The Q-Cells Solar Roadshow is one of the highlights of Q-Cells' new partner program. During this event, our partner Q-Cells presented its current product portfolio. The «Colani Truck», specifically designed for the roadshow and fitted with a presentation and training room, stopped over in Kempten on 9th August and in Dresden on 15th August 2011.
Many of our clients were eager to seize the opportunity to inform themselves about Q-Cells and AE Photonics.
The lorry was designed by Luigi Colani and combines futuristic elements with an aerodynamic design.
The sheltered workshops «KJF Werkstätten St. Josef» in Straubing were founded in 1975 and employ and take care of about 420 persons with disabilities.
In 2010, the sheltered workshops supported us in the production and pre-assembly of sub-construction components.
We gave the employees a table football in order to thank them for their great cooperation and consistently reliable work. We hope their breaks at work are now a bit more comfortable.
From 8th to 10th June 2011, AE Photonics presented itself with its own booth at the world's largest exhibition for the solar industry «Intersolar Europe 2011» in Munich and showcased its product portfolio and innovations.
Many of our clients visited our booth and we were able to make a lot of new contacts. We would like to thank all partners and clients for visiting our booth.
